About me

This will be my sixth year teaching at Blue Ridge Elementary. I began as a 5th grade teacher, then moved to 4th grade, and am now teaching 2nd. I started teaching a few years after a trip to Tanzania, Africa where I worked in a school and helped at a local orphanage. I fell in love with the children and their excitement for knowledge. My bachelor's degree is in Sociology from Georgia College, and I obtained my Masters in Teaching from Augusta University. I recently completed the Gifted Endorsement, and enjoy adapting my teaching approach to the strategies I have learned. In my free time, I enjoy cycling and baking. I always said if I wasn't a teacher, I would open a bakery and if I could, travel the world. I am excited about meeting the students this year and look forward to being a part of their future success.

Class Overview

In my classroom, students will be learning Reading, Writing, Grammar, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Each week, we focus on learning a few concepts outlined in the Georgia Standards of Excellence and will build on them as the year progresses.

Did your student forget to bring home their book or newspaper? No worries! Students will need to log into Classlink through the school website, and use the tab titled "HMH Ed" to access their ELA material, "iReady" to access Math material, and "Studies Weekly" to access Social Studies material.
